TADS (Temporary anchorage devices) are among the many orthodontic services Durrett Orthodontics in Tampa, FL provides for our patients. We are eager to give all individuals in the area the best quality of care possible, and we continue to find new ways to do so. What is a TAD and when is it used?
TADS are commonly used for patients to help tooth movement go quicker and more comfortably. They are made up of small titanium anchors and can be used with traditional braces or as a substitute to headgear. If Dr. Durrett suggests a TAD for your treatment, then she will refer you to a dental specialist for placement and use in conjunction with braces or Invisalign. They will then place the TAD in the jawbone. You may feel a slight discomfort in the days that follow the TAD placement. Your TAD can quickly and easily be removed once your treatment is complete. Cleaning your TAD is similar to cleaning your teeth and braces. Thoroughly brush and floss at least twice a day.
