It is recommending that children first visit an orthodontist at the age of seven. This allows the orthodontist to better monitor your child’s smile. However, many of our patients are older, and high-quality care is provided to them as well.
Braces are used to improve the alignment of your teeth, straighten teeth, correct bite issues, and improve your overall oral health. Our office provides a variety of braces including Invisalign, ceramic, clear, lingual, self-ligating, and traditional metal braces. Contact us for an appointment to see which is the best option for your situation.
The longevity of wearing your braces varies from patient to patient. Treatments typically last anywhere from six to 30 months. Heading closely to your orthodontist’s instructions may allow for a quicker treatment length.
Your mouth may be sore from each tightening period. We provide patients with soft wax to place on metal wires that may poke at your gums and tissue. If your braces are unusually uncomfortable or prodding at your mouth, then visit us for an adjustment.
If you take part in a contact sport, then we recommend investing in a mouthguard to protect your smile. It may take a small period of adjustment to play instruments or take part in sports.
